Check Engine lamp is illuminated and/or warning message is on the vehicle dash/information cluster. Perform evaluation and diagnostic testing including DTC pre and post repair scan, component testing, test drive, and vehicle inspection. Test drove vehicle confirmed the misfiring feel on it and there is also a popping sound while driving, when is at idle the sound is something like a vacuum or air leak. Removed oil filter to see if there are metal in it and found the bottom of filter with glitter like metal in it but nothing on the paper part of it. With scanner was able to confirm the cylinder 6 misfiring all the time, customer confirmed there are new spark plugs installed. Next was able to locate noise coming from top of intake between cylinder 6 and 4, went to fuel trims live data to see if they are off but they are not, sprayed with carbuclean to detect leaks bu none found, last smoke test intake system but same results no leaks found. Next is to get approval to remove valve cover to see if we have a lifter problem.
After removing valve cover turned engine to look at rocker arms and they all moving correctly but the noise heard before still there like an air leak. Removed spark plug did a compression test on cylinder 6 and it has 125psi (100psi is minimum), did a leak down test and confirmed a leak under intake manifold in the head assy. There is two options at the moment replace head and do a lifter job or do a complete engine replacement.

Check Engine lamp is illuminated and/or warning message is on the vehicle dash/information cluster. Perform evaluation and diagnostic testing including DTC pre and post repair scan, component testing, test drive, and vehicle inspection. Confirmed customer complaint that the vehicle is running poorly and it stalls, went to do a full system scan and it has 3 at PCM a P0300, P050D and P0106, the engine does not sound healthy either there is knocking noises so went a did a compression test before any extensive testing. On compression test found cylinder 4 with 0psi compression, vehicle needs engine.

Evacuate and Recharge system with R-134a Freon.Add A/C Dye.Test system performance.Check over system for signs of substantial leaks or defects. No guarranty on longevity of operation.New system leaks can occur at anytime!. Confirmed A/C is not blowing cold at center vents, connected machine and found no pressure at system (no freon), did a 3 minute vacuum and it held, put pressure on system and with soapy water sprayed all A/C system that I could see and still could not find any leaks. Replaced port valve, vacuum system for 30 minutes and held it for another 20. Charged system and still no cold air, tested for power and ground at compressor and everything is there. Needs Compressor. Note: Drive belt is bad, seems like it wasn't installed correctly and ate a piece of it. After service, all pressures are correct.

Found Return hose has a hole in it. (this is one we replaced at last repair) Tested and found return hose was getting too much pressure which caused failure. Found kink in line further down on return line. Repaired and re-tested. OK. After repairing and bleeding air from system, power steering pump was still remaining noisy (replaced at last repair) Replace power steering pump under warranty.

Confirmed the light is active. Scanned for codes and found P0430 CAT system low efficiency B2, following DTC guide lines inspected exhaust system for leaks and found none, the fuel trims look also Ok, test drove and looking at misfire data there is none, also looking at fuel trims sprayed carbuclean to see if there is any vacuum leaks but nothing moved. According to the testing completed and agreeing with DTC guide lines vehicle needs CAT.
