Services Performed
- Vehicle is dead, no lights or any power anywhere. Jump started and check for voltage output in alternator and we have 14 volts. Let vehicle charge for 45 minutes and did battery test again, rec to replace based off results.
- The electrical system was tested, and a current draw of 200 mA was detected, whereas the maximum allowable draw is 50 mA. Initial checks of the front electrical system revealed no abnormal draw in the engine compartment. The investigation was then extended to the rear fuse box, where the source of the draw was identified at Fuse 38. This fuse controls the power outlet. Upon further inspection inside the vehicle, a GPS unit was found to be connected to the power outlet, and it was determined that the GPS was remaining powered on continuously, causing the excessive draw. No parts are required at this time. It is recommended that the GPS unit be unplugged when not in use to prevent unnecessary battery drain
