Services Performed
- performed tests on battery and starting system. charged battery and confirmed the vehicle is getting the correct voltage. also confirmed that the starter is working as it should.
- performed dtc scan on vehicle and found multiple dtcs. after erasing dtcs found that most dtcs returned as active. when attempting to connect to vehicles ecu through scanner. scanner would not communicate with vehilce. also found rodent damage in vehicle from insulation. unable to find any damage to wiring components. further diagnoses will be needed to resolve issue with no crank no start. (2-4 hours)
- Continued diagnosis, got access at ignition switch and tested powers and it's all there. We have communication with ECM at the moment and scanning it there are multiple codes, cleared them to see what came back and only code back is 1661 EWS communication error, found a article on Identafix with this concern and following testing found everything working correctly. Followed with getting access to EWS connector to test the powers and ground. Tested powers and there is one at black/yellow wire to have only 8.6 volts, then tested ground and also found power at ground wire. Went to ground X13230 and found an open wire there, fixed wire and now vehicle it starts, there are multiple lights active at cluster, there is a bad cell on vehicle it won't take any charge. Put everything back together and test drove, vehicle needs a battery. Note: when putting air in tires found a left rear with big slashes on tire.
